Work-based learning: The Entrance to the Professional Future The project Work-based learning: The Entrance to the Professional Future has reached its final months of implementation! During these months, the C2 Activity took place in Sofia, Bulgaria (24-28 February 2020), which gathered together educational experts, representatives of vocational schools and training centers as well as NGO staff from all partner countries. The work from the C2 Activity produced the Best Practices Report, which you can find below. In addition, during these months, the partnership set up the International Collaborative Network that is available on the project website (www.work-basedlearning.eu) Best Practices Report The Best Practices report is the final product of the project “Work Based Learning – The entrance to the professional future” realized under the Programme Erasmus+ of the European Union with project number 2018 – 3 – BG01 – KA205 – 060977. Participants in the process are from 8 different European countries – Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Cyprus, Spain, Italy, Poland and Greece. Nowadays, unemployment is one of the strongest challenges faced by European youth and combatting it remains a top priority for securing a positive future for young people. Organizations, actively involved in the educational sector, have detected concrete problems, related to the mismatch between the competences gained after competition of traditional educational pathways and the real needs of the labour market. Such findings reveal some essential reasons for the stagnating youth unemployment tendency in Europe. The following report is addressed to every person of any age that wants to know more about the VET sectors in different European countries and the reality of the Work Based Learning. The readers will get familiar with the definitions of the VET and WBL; they will be able to learn about the VET sectors and its specific problems in each partner country; they will see what are the common problems of this sector in the European countries participating in this project and they will gain knowledge on the Work Based Learning. The utmost purpose of the Network is to connect entities ready to strengthen the implementation of international mobility schemes and to offer more support for such opportunities for young people.
